Can use monthly cast multiple site search spells of the same type.

I saw this on the progress page. What does that mean, exactly? I _think_ it means that you can cast multiple, say, Haruspex spells using monthly cast, and it won't target the same province more than once.

If so, I humbly request you release 3.07 _now_. =D

I think it means that too. People have been requesting that for a while.

Having it show up on the progress page as patch 3.07 means that the testers have it. You wont be much pleased if you have a windows or mac machine and that feature doesnt work. The patches have to be tested on the other systems by the beta-testers before it can be released.

Gandalf, that last part was kind of a joke. :p They've already made great strides in making sitesearching less onerous. I'm glad that it looks like more is happening. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Unfortunately MOST beta-testers never tested any of the modding commands or map commands... thus Dominions_3 was released with broken editing tools.
#startspell still only works for the first turn of a game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I suspect the next release will still have several broken modding commands. We seem to be a low priority.

True... #startspell worked within DOM_2 and was great for making an AI opponent intensely more challenging. For example you could select an AI opponent which doesn't use blood magic, then give them a non_moving blood caster, magic site(s) with blood income and specific blood spells. As long as the AI nation had death magic it would be marching armies of demon knights or whatever two or three blood spells you provided.

Funny I always thought that Johan loved modders. Seemed like they always got the most changes. I had to fight for map and server commands. But there might be a lag in modder beta-testers.

Well, if they're needing Modding testers, you know where to find us. :p

Hmm, that might actually be a good idea. There is not very much attention to modding in the beta. I think JK is quite fond of adding modding tools. Adding more modding tools is also a good way to keep dominions interesting when we are preoccupied with other matters.

I've long since lost all knowledge of what is moddable and not.

Its hard to find people who will mod for years and years every time a patch comes out.
We had modders in the beta group but we wore them out. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I think that's another sign that you should rotate them out. I mean, that's what you do to high-wear parts, right?

Well its not like any old volunteer can jump in. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
But it might be a good time to look at the posts of some of the modders.

I completely agree!
The beta testers should be judged on their performance of finding bugs... the worst performers should be dropped and replaced.

I think you can go better when it comes to motivating them... Imagine how hard they'd work if instead of being replaced, the worst performers were eaten by bears!
