Hi, I am playing a Kailasa EA and I have a F9A9 pretender.
Kailasa has holy archers and I wondered if the F9 bless (fire weapons) applies to the bows, as well as normal weapons (like swords or spears). Are they using fire arrows ?
The holy melee combatants of Kaisala also have, in addition to their sword, a kick attack. Is it F9 enchanted : fire kick ?

The bows don't get the bless, but I think the kicks do. Sacred cavalry have flaming hooves, I think.

I didn't think that weapons with the 'bonus' property would actually benefit from fire bless. I'm using sacred cavalry with fire bless in a game with Llamabeast and I don't think the hooves are doing any extra fire damage. Could be wrong.

Oh right, you could well be right Sombre. I didn't know about the 'bonus' property.
Your horses are still plenty deadly against my poor little Vaettis!

From a post by Kristoffer in the Dom2 forum (I did a search for "flaming hooves"):
Fire blessing is one extra 8 AP hit if the primary attack hits. A hero with 4 attacks (2 sword of swiftness perhaps) will get up to four additional 8 AP hits.
So primary attack only it seems, and no flaming hooves http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

bugger... think it should apply to both ranged (pretty rare anyway) and maybe hooves... good amount of mounted sacred correct?

Even though it's disappointing not to have flames on the secondary attack, you've got to admit that it's more thematic in the case of hooves.
What this makes me wonder is whether this affects e.g. Jaguar Warriors. Do they only get a single fire attack? If so, a Blood bless becomes a lot more desirable for multi-attack units.

Not really. Theres always the attack bonus. Although i personally like my F9W9B6 Moloch for mictlan(very offensive bless and an amazing SC)

My thought was that an F9 bless becomes relatively less desirable than, say, an F8B6. Assuming points are roughly equal, which I haven't cranked the math on, and assuming the fire attack really does only get applied to one attack.

Wait a second. Now that I look again at that post, it looks like it says the opposite of what I thought. If both swords of swiftness count as primary attacks, why wouldn't flaming hooves count as a primary attack? I think he's saying "primary attack" = whatever the flaming attack is attached to.
I'll check this later tonight by turning on debugging.

I think the original argument was that all regular attacks were "primary" attacks and got the 8AP, but bonus attacks didn't.

So you mean that gloves of the gladiator with 4 attacks only get the extra fire attack once?
