I had my GoR Gorgon to cast soul vortex but i couldnt see any effect.
Can this happen due to the inbuilt petrification?

Well the petrification does tend to clear the area around the gorgon quite effectively but the soul vortex should have reduced her fatigue and given her a little extra health.

I assume you mean gargoyle and not gorgon.

Yeah you do not need to GoR a Gorgon, so he likely meant some other unit.

He probably wished for the Gorgon. Gargoyles don't have petrification.

Thank god.
I'm pretty sure soul vortex works with gorgons, although Wish + GoR + D3 Empowerment is awfully expensive. Especially when you could forge some bone armor.

Yes the gorgon was created by a wish to serve as a sc.
When i watched another battle the SV effect (these little white blobs around the caster) ocurred, but not every round, something seemed to interrupt it by time.

You might just be getting a graphical anomaly. I often (running Vista, BTW) have firebals appear as tiny little sparks, or the bottom halves shaved off of lightning bolts. Could be something on that order.

I see spell effects get abbreviated if I am using a video card with not very much video memory, and am on a map which has lots of stuff in the background - like a view of a mountainous landscape with trees. Pressing 1 to limit background detail helps.

Observed it again ...
At the start, right after casting it it worked pretty well, but later on it stopped.
Is the anything that can stop soul vortex, or does it stop at certain opportunities? (no living targets in range,..?)
