can't you just look at the timestamps, to determine when was the last time that a player uploaded a *.2h file?

Well, i am all for people who use gandalf's server making it as easy as possible for him to manage this wonderful service he gives to the DOM III commmunity.
I would like to turn around Ich's suggestion and say:
Can't people tell him when a game is dead, rather than have him checking timestamps on files every week?

If I'd be hosting blitzes, then I'd let them have a maximum timespan of 24 or 48 hours and shut them down or clean them up automatically at that time. People could ask me if they want to have the game running longer in case that's not enough for them. IMHO that would make much more sense for blitzes.

Ive tried to avoid making rules. And Im probably too nice when I do.
Not only time stamps but I do have each game output the stats file and I rotate those with the --postexec. Those are pretty handy. It will say
Machaka played this turn
Agartha played this turn
C'tis didn't play this turn
Pangaea is computer controlled
and I can check it for 5 turns back from the latest one.
The games roll out automatically if there is a winner (and they connect that last time to pick up their win notice). The game quits automatically.
And I easily catch when there is only one player and the rest have gone computer AI.
Id rather say that 3 days stale is AI'd. But in a small map blitz game thats kindof late to be a worthwhile opponent. The games rotate quicker if people let me know as soon as they have dropped the game. I take too long to kill a game which might be active.
