I have a question on a new unique magic item (new to me anyway). The Black Mirror description says that it dispels all illusion and phantasms on the battlefield. But in using it against Helheim, all their units glamour stayed perfectly intact throughout the battle. Is glamour not an illusion?

Glamour/Mirror Image is an illusion, or at least I've been told that Eye of the Void successfully dispels it. (I've never tried it.) It's odd that the Black Mirror didn't do the same.

That would be a nice counter that I hadn't thought of. I haven't tried it for that either, but I always assumed it only applied to separate illusionary monsters.

It should dispell glamour, but it might be that it is a pre-battle spell, just like the glamour of units. I'll have to take a look. Pity if it doesn't work.

From the description text it sounds like it should dispell illusions on every combat round.

The only spell it will cast is Mind Hunt (which is nice... that part works just fine). On the battlefield all you can do is carry it around.

always wondered, if you cast mind hunt and get "caught" by another astral mage is the holder of the mirror feebleminded?

Yes. Using it for mind-hunt is a very high-risk profession. But it's not cursed, so I just used disposable S1 mages holding booster and penetration items which allow them to attack more powerfully.

Feeblemindness can happen but the mage will still be able to use the mind hunt from the mirror

In the same regard as any non-mage can use item spells, I guess. The question is, does a successful Mind Hunt attempt from somebody without astral magic still result in a Mind Burn / Soul Slay?

Yes, it does. The mage I have it on is not an astral mage, and he has made several successful attacks.

Does this mean you could put it on a scout for example and still Mind Hunt?

Probably with the mind burn effect.
