1.) Does storm have the same impact as rain on abyssian fire-stuff?

2.) I forget. I'll add it when I remember.

I think you should have concurred with me on the second point too. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Are storm and mist heat effects cumulative?

2.) When a storm clears up (caster dies), if another mage has used storm power (or was carrying that tome of strong-in-storms(igor), does that stay in effect?

When do storms happen if a spell isn't cast for them? At random?

I'm pretty sure that storm only comes into effect by spell, whether that is a spell cast in battle, the global enchantment Perpetual Storm, or created by the item 'Staff of Storms'.

I've definitely seen the battle graphics snowing and storming sponteneously, without any magic causing it. I don't recall whether or not that produces the same battle effects as a magic-induced storm, though!

I was under the impression that natural storms had the same affect as magical storms as far as fire & missile weapons were concerned, but that they did not affect flight?

Spontaneous rains and storms have the same effects as spells IIRC. They appear more often if you have growth and turmoil respectively.

Storm and mist are not cumulative IIRC, but I'm not 100 on this.

Edit: Rain in a cold province is snow.

Storm and mist are cumulative on precision, I've used it to good effect before against a horde of Abysian fire mages. They couldn't hit a thing!

I've tested this. They are cumulative. Mist + Storm = 1/4 percision for the archers. It's good stuff.

One last question that is only vaguely related-

Astral fires - does it affect fire-immune troops? And, is it dampered by rain/storms?
