Does EA Atlantis ever get a Hero? I'm playing them in MP now, and have played them in a few SP games, but have never seen a Hero.

Unfortunately no.

There are still some nations without heroes. Nations that were not in dom2 are more likely to lack heroes.

MA Agartha gets their first two heroes in the upcoming patch. MA Mictlan gets two new ones. Marverni gets it's second hero.

While waiting for me to make heroes for all nation you can try the worthy heroes mod. It gives every nation heroes that are quite thematic. I believe it is quite popular.

This is not a slam at all but it can be helpful to the devs if you wanted to. Do you (or anyone) have a suggestion for an Atlantis hero? The only one I can think of would be "Prince Namor" from the comic books. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Serpent Rider? (young serpents only), multihero. Basically an amphibious cavalry. Rider can be killed, mount-only regen. I thinking like the Wyrm pretender, but less imposing and deadly. Armored like living pillar, but def and attack are better, plus mount has two heads that bite. Mount is less armored.

Maybe the serpent rider can use a regular sea serpent rather than the wyrm?

But, but, but.. I want a hero with a total of three heads. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

That should be Lanka. A n Asura or a Daitya. Might appear later on. Probably as a demon lord replacement.

Maybe a 'crazed' Basalt King that has visions of the star falling and the Starspawns of R'Lyeh waging war on their empire? He may have a following of believers, while most of the atlantians think he is a crackpot.

Atlantis can get Father Dagon as a Pretender, so I think at least EA Atlantis should get Mother Hydra as a national hero!

Iä! Iä!

EDIT: And basing on Salamander's "crazed Basalt King" idea, the Basalt King hero could be a crazed worshipper of the falling star who causes unrest, turmoil and/or faith to lower in the province it's in and gets freespawn, something like mad Atlantian worshippers.

I think an Atlantis hero should be a mage: the recruitable commanders have more than enough stats. The mage could be based on something like the gatherer of drowned sailers and have 2 or 3 death and 1 astral. This would help with magical diversity.

The gatherer of drowned sailors bit is Fomorian territory for reasons that will become apparent with the next patch.

I guess that would fall into the category of "Hint, Hint".

By the way, I have seen two or three references around the forum to the progress page of the next patch. Where is this progress page?

The progress page is at http://ulm.illwinter.com/dom3/dom3progress.html
There is also a link to it at the top of the first post of the bug shortlist thread.

The reason why it's Fomorian territory is a matter of thematics rather than anything else. There is no such hero that I know of as yet. Whether one appears will be up to Kristoffer.

It's worth noting that as far as the number of entries/additions on the progress page goes, this patch has more of those than all the previous patches put together, though the earlier ones contained fixes to a number of game-breaking, crash-to-desktop level things.

Spell failed because Edratman has an unusally high MR because of his large lead ***.

I still think it was a good idea for a water nation hero.

Thank you for the link, there are a lot of cool looking additions on it. And a thanks to the dev's for their continuing efforts to make the game even better. And a second hearty thanks to the dev's because they are doing all this improvement to the game for free. Every other developer would issue something like this as a $29 expansion pack.

And that's why those of us who play on macs are waiting with such desperate eagerness for this next one. Way back on 29 april the (last?) crash-to-desktop Mac bug got caught and fixed, and every time it hits me I pray again for this next release! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
