View Full Version : Can you filter Commanders?

2 issues please...

I have read in the forum that there is a command to filter out commanders (researchers) but can't locate which key it is.

I discovered the 'n' key to pick the next unemployed commander which looks to be very useful. What other 'essential' key board shortcuts can't you uber-players do without?

Thanks.

I use ctrl-m all the time to cast monthly site searching spells. And this isn't uber but I use R all the time in the character screen to rename my people. Usually in a big SP game I like to differentiate what randoms my mages get. So I have a lot of Earthos, Aeros, Astralos (Astrala's for the ladies).

The tab key is what filters out the researchers.
Shift + z will pool all the blood slaves from a selected commander to the lab.

Did you just see that fine look Astrala!? I'd like to be her Communion Master if you know what I mean.

On mine, the tab key just toggles all map filters (income etc) while it is being pressed.

Tab only filters out researchers in the army setup screen, not on the strategic map (it used to in Dom2, but it was removed).

Use the 'y' key to use the alternate army setup screen - use this when moving multiple armies into a province. Example: on the map you've moved 2 separate armies into one enemy province and both armies have the red arrow pointing to their destination. Right click on the destination province and press the y key. Now you can set up both armies in the army setup screen.

Is there anyway to automatically rename all of your commanders by the magical paths they have?

Is there somewhere a summary of shortcuts ?

How utterly unroleplayish of you! Shame! SHAME!

In other words, no http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Pressing ? in game does it, IIRC. I think it lists the 'Z' key, the 'y' key etc. The problem is that some are very useful ('y', and the shortcuts for opening 'r'ecruit screen, F5 for research), and some are situational ('Z' for blood slaves) and some aren't that useful (the key for opening temple screen) - but they aren't categorized by their usefulness.

Yea, I have noticed this. Some players name there mages w2s4d1 etc...

Not only is it very bad for, 'game atmos', it shows up on scouting reports http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif, so you know exactly what mage is with what army...double http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif

I am for roleplaying or amusing names, if I rename my commanders. Such as 2 gargoyles, one with the harvest blade (chops peoples legs off) and the other with Picus's/Procas's Axe of Rulership (chops arms off), together they are called Chop Suew. Well, I thought it was amusing... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Most people know the paths of mages.

But i usually have a few decoys anyway.

I seldom care if the enemy knows what random paths my mages ended up with. It saves time not having to search for the spefic mage you need.

I have gotten into the habit of naming all of my mid-level combat mages 'rockstar'.

Thanks Endoperez. It will save me a lot of time.
I only change names when two have the same, or when my baphomet is called ramirez...
