I had an (immortal) vampire count with a black heart attempt assassination. He cast summon lamashta. Then (I guess because of the fear effect of the lamashta), he retreated. He was in friendly dominion, but did not appear in my home province after the battle. Is this a known bug? Does dying while retreating in an assassination not count as death that you can recover from if immortal??

Might be a silly question, but...were you in your own dominion when it happened?

Yes, I had 7 white candles. I was in my home province.

Immortals die for real in assassinations and death matches. Whether thats a bug or a designer intent is up for debate.

Isn't there also something about immortals dying in their home province?

I do not think that immortality is supposed to fail in the home province.
As a matter of fact, I distinctly remember killing Vampire Queens in their
capital, and fighting them again, even on the same turn :-)

On the other hand, there are definitely quite a few bugs that have to do
with immortality, and dying when you should not.
