Is it 24 in a province? I'm in an MP game and just discovered that my Pretender vanished. Disconcerting to say the least. He was in my capital and now I see 24 characters there and he's not one of them.
How would I get him to show so I could check his orders?

There should be a ">" next to the bottom of the character display. click it to scroll the display
You can also see the full list in the 'F1' screen.

You can also use the < and > keys to decrease/increase the size of the images for showing the commanders (and therefore decrease/increase the number that you can see at once)

thejeff didn't get it exactly right. It's a v, not a > at the bottom of the screen. It's easy for it to blend in with terrain. Once you've scrolled down you'll also see an up arrow at the top of the screen.

I think '+' and '-' are the hotkeys to scroll the list too?

Not knowingly no. Man, I really feel like I'm missing out.

If you care, wikipedia has an article about it. Just google fnord. Amazing what useless information there is to be found. Should we maybe suggest the arrows have their colour changed to black in the next patch? It seems alot of people miss the arrows.

Having played LA Ry'leh for the third game now, I've seen my share of fnords.

For instance:
3735928559
Used to fill a 32-bit value to mark it bad or unused, because of its hexadecimal representation "DEADBEEF".
