I'm here by praying for the gods of IW to pour their benevolence on their faithful and bless us by adding this tiny winy little thingi, a small confirmation dialog that would so pop up when the 'e' button is pressed.
I might add that I'm quite excited when writing this post for I'm quite certain I have just accidentally pressed the 'e' button - thus ruining my would be turn for at least the hundredth time. This would be 100 times my keyboard ran the risk on being smashed to pieces http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif
Oh and having the end turn key reside so innocently close to the recruit button is quite an insidious touch, keeps you alert and attentive when recruiting troops http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Recently when trying to save and exit by choose options at the top right I accidently hit end turn instead. End turn should have a confirmation for SP games.
If the turn accidently starts you can use task manager to kill the dom3 game. I've done this at least ten times and never had any damage done to the saved game.

Yes, this would be quite worthwhile. If it wasn’t too much effort it’s also be great to have a confirmation dialog for throwing away items. Make sure you put a return address when sending that ring of wizardry back to the lab! While we’re wishing, it’d be nice if cursed items didn’t “stick” until the turn hosted (like PD) so if you accidentally click on the slave collar right next to the ring which made it back to the lab you don’t have to scrap the whole turn.

Actually it would be nice enough to move the return to lab entry to the top of the list, instead of next to the throw away entry.
If the list is long, Lab is also the one I use most so being on the top would reduce scrolling.

Good to know I am not the only one who makes those silly mistakes... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
I support anything that helps reduce them and my blood pressure when I have spent 2 hrs on a turn only to have forgotton to save it or such.

Add my name to the list. I mean, for all you poor souls who have ever accidentally done that...

I think a toggle in options to turn on stealth units only sneaking /if/ you hold ctrl when assigning movement might be useful.

Yeah, we need confirmations when throwing away items. Return to Lab should definitely be at the top of the list since that is usually the one you select.
Also there should be a way you can plan battles better with the y button if there already existing armies in the selected province. Right now you can not reposition existing armies and commanders so you have to switch between the provinces to determine the positions of the moving army and the existing army. I think this is already on the bug list, but for me it is one of the most painful things about the UI.

If it is added, all I ask is that it be an OPTION.
I absolutely detest being asked if I am sure that I want to do something, and I have never had an accidental end turn or accidentally thrown an item away. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Im in agreement, and also wish it to be an option. A command switch would be fine. I think that its a good thing to have for new players, but should be something that we can eventually turn off when its more of an irritation than a help.

well, two clicks io one click doesnt seem to make much difference, and a hotkey ("Y" for "yes i want to quit seems obvious) makes it fairly easy as well. but a box to x the confirmation pop up off wont hurt as well.
i got angry at first when i ended a turn accidentally, now i constantly keep in mind to avoid that button untill willfully sought, but as it is just a single click and go, even moving aside my mouse or making a wrong movement could do much ill. and to have it so subtily amidst the all the other buttons like any other, it would put my mind at ease to have a confirmation pop up.
would make sense as well when youre first trying the game, that this would pop up.

I've also just fumble fingered 'e' when reaching for 'r' to set someone to research.
A simple 'e' or click, then 'enter' to agree wouldn't be too burdensome.

I've been asking for this for quite a while. It seems that too many people consider the confirm end turn button as a "I think you are too stupid to hit the right key, so I'm forced to double check on you" button.
If the "e" button could be made into a SHIFT "E" than that would reduce problems also.
Doesn't anybody realize that I like to have a fermented beverage or two to reduce the agony of micromanagement?

nice formulation; exactly right. but if the confirmation has a second hotkey, you wont even see it.

Actually, I would prefer to have a confirmation like hotseat MP games have, it used to be that way in Dom2.

I for one would be more than happy if any one of the many possible remedies mentioned here will be implemented. I'm sure hoping the devs would someday make that happen.
