I don't understand the teleportation spells. Somehow only my SC gets teleported. The troops which I place under the SC, don't get teleported! Tried Faery Trod, that tome teleporting artifact, etc and none has worked http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

I heard that those are bugged. Luckily in a MP game, my Faery Trod worked fine..
IIRC that the issue with Gate Stone (and the likes) was that you needed to have Astral Travel (or the appropiate ritual spell corresponding to the item) researched before it worked.

The troops under the sc never get transported when you cast teleportation - neither should they. If you need to move troops try gateway (only works if the destination has a friendly laboratory) and astral travel.

Hmm, many of the teleporting spells did not work when Dominions 3 was originally released. Have you downloaded the most recent patch?

RamsHead is correct... you need to install the most recent patch. Teleporting spells such as Gateway, Faery Trod, Astral Travel do work with the most recent patch installed.
The only spell I recommend not using is Stygian Paths... last time I casted the spell my entire teleporting army of 300 different units were killed and my commander arrived with 1 hitpoint. And the message told me I lost 9 million units which screamed bugged.
Also beware: The description for Stygian Paths says you can be attacked by spirits or worse, yet there's never any battle only the loss of your units.

Stygian paths does indeed seems buggy. I've also lost armies, though I don't remember ever getting a "nine million losses" message.

How is Faerie Trod? I haven't tried it in quite a while, but might need to do so soon. Does it work OK?

It worked fine in a MP game I'm having.
