I tried usingt Maggots against a ghost king in single player and I noticed that the poison damage from maggots are capped at 110-119 damage.
I tried it several times with the ghost king having different max and current HP.

Poison damage vs undead? Is that even possible?

It acts like poison (deals damage over several turns and is indicated by a green bar), but its not really poison. Its a little like poison that only effects undead.

The undead can also use invulnerability to get poison vulnerability.

A clever trick only used by the most experienced players http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Good to know. If I ever want my undead to be vulnerable to poisons, now its possible!

Well, it would be rather strange if Maggots were bug-free... :p

Speaking of poisoning things that are immune to poison, how exactly does The Sharpest Tooth work? It just ignores the poison resist stat and deals its poison damage anyway?
Do poison-on-hit weapons need to deal at least 1 hp of damage to poison the target? Despite its name The Sharpest Tooth is not AN, or even AP according to the manual. Disappointing, even a cons-0 hunters knife is sharper than that.

Hey it's the sharpest tooth, not the sharpest thing in the world.
Like if it were the sharpest marshmallow, it wouldn't necessarily be sharper than, say, a pointed stick.

Maggots is a great spell to stop raiding banelords. A 1N mage with one nature gem can route a fully kitted out Banelord. Just make sure your nature mage is in the middle of about 15PD so the BL doesnt fly over and kill your mage on turn 1.

Poison weapon doesn't need to deal even a point of damage, hitting target is enough (unless it's considered a bug and has been changed in a patch). I've killed prot30 Dai Onis to poison damage, even when they didn't get a single scratch from the poison arrows. Slow, inefficient, but sometimes all you have.

Haven't checked with the manual, but in-game (3.08) the tooth is armor piercing.
