Looking for a reliable PBEM opponent here, enjoy all types of scenarios but especially hypothetical Cold War WP vs. NATO battles. I'm a relative novice at WinSPMBT, but am fairly knowledgeable with regard to tactics and equipment.

Jordan,
Might I suggest you join one of the established wargaming clubs? There, you will readily find opponents for PBEM.
Try here:
http://worldatwar.eu/index.php?&lang=3&refcode=0&location=freebattlegro und
or here:

I'm sure you'll be made welcome. If you don't want your games to be recorded on the Ladders, that's OK. Just advise your Opponents when agreeing the parameters of the Game.
Have fun!

Not sure about the other 2 sites but GameSquad (formerly StrategyZoneOnline)allows you to report Ladder games as "Unrated" so you get credited with playing and reporting the game. This allows you to report playtesting or training battles without affecting your "official" Ladder rating or standing.
Here is an updated link from the former strategyzoneonline one John provided;

Hey guys, sorry about the delay in responding, got really busy with school and work for a while. I have a lot of free time in the next few weeks though and would love to do some PBEM games. I'm up for pretty much anything - scenarios, generated battles, whatever. E-mail is jordan dot gilmore at gmail dot com.

Hey DD I used your save to favorites trick for the game guide you posted at Game Squad. Thank's. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Brummbar, glad to hear it was useful. I think that was Dion who came up with the trick though.

I copied and pasted it here for you.
When reading the WinSPWW2 Game Guide you can display the whole document (without the index) on the screen without having to scroll back and forth to read it. Do this by saving the guide as a favorite, but don't save it using the favorite command that's displayed as a heart, instead save it by right clicking on the document and clicking on Add to Favorites. After doing that it should be in your favorites folder, click it; now you can read it without having to scroll back and forth, because the index will gone. I know this will work with AOL, but I don't know if it will work with other internet providers.

There´s no need for that actually, among the game documentation files there´s a file containing the game guide without the index. Maybe I´m missing something
