View Full Version : Witch Healing?

So, I found a sight that lets me recruit witches, which in the description said said witches had powers which heal.

I assumed this meant the witches were like Arco Priestesses, which is to say they have a strategic command to heal afflictions. At last, no such command is available for my recruited witches, which is disappointing, to say the least. So, what exactly is meant when it is said that witches have "healing powers"?

It means nothing, it's flavor (= they don't heal anything). As a funny sidenote, people ask this question almost periodically. :O

Well, I did a search, which yielded nothing.

Yeah, they tend to show up in threads with related, other original topics (like, threads about units that heal), and which indies are useful and so forth. So that way this one was unique. :-)

Witches have nature magic. Nature magic is associated with healing. But of course it's flavor as well. Many units have flavor text that tells a very interesting story, but that has no impact at all game mechanically. Personally, I enjoy these immensly, as they generate a certain history and otherwise very nice feeling.

It is annoying when some flavor text implies abilities that the units do have and some flavor text also implies abilities but is just flavor.

It would be less of an issue if healing showed up as an icon, so you could tell before building witches and checking the orders.

* New icons: Fortune teller; Dark, fire, cold power; Poisonous Barbs; Healer; Heretic (sceptic and others)

With the next patch there should be an icon for healing added, hopefully with a % or visible effectiveness number also.

Yep, there will be, but the % is a bit misleading. It will give the chance that the healer makes a heal attempt on a unit. Most afflictions has about 50% chance of getting healed if healing is attempted, while some (grave afflictions like lost arm, crippled, never healing wound and feeblemind) are less likely to get healed. SO when it says healing 100 it is actually about 50%.

Perhaps you could help a newbie out. I went to silhouette's link and saw a sweet list of stuff. Is that stuff that's going to be in the next patch or stuff that's already available? Where do we check for patch updates?
