I was wondering , taking into account: gem cost, pop kill, unrest creation, research level and anonimity what is the best province nuke and why?
For those of you who want specifics:in mp on a medium map with average magic sites

I *love* rain of toads. Low research, path requirements, and cost (blood slaves are cheap) it lets you lock down enemy castles at an early enough stage that it can cripple them. No other spell can be used as effectively so early because even if you have the research and mages to cast it you can't support a steady flow of any other gem type until late game.

Terrific. Another poll that a newb can't benefit from without screwing up the results with an uninformed vote.

I like locust swarms because it does not kill population. I try to avoid killing pop unless I have no other choice or I am losing badly. they are a future source of income.

Locust swarms cheap, easy to cast and anonymous. It hits you foes where it hurts, the pocket book.

Or they can choose other.

I'm inclined to say locust swarms, simply because many nations have access to low-level nature magic, and I love being anonymous.

Why black death? It hurts armies, so should be next Sky Flames/Fires and such damage spells... Does Black Death hurt civilians?

LEPROSY hurts armies. Black Death hurts civilians. This is how it was before at least!

I voted rain of toads, but wolven winter has also its uses if you are either a cold nation like caelum or niefelheim that gets bonuses from the cold, or when you are fighting ctis that does not like cold provinces.

Good call. I voted other. Sorry Cor2. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I saw a few polls like that in the recent past and posted without thinking. I can't expect anyone to automatically foresee that consequence of a closed poll.

Thats cool. No offence taken.
I was not worried about skewed results because these pools are not scientific anyway.

I've become quite fond of Blight in my MP game. Unfortunately my mages able to cast it got killed a while ago. It is low level, kills pop, causes unrest and also a gold loss of 80. Also it is earth, a path I had plenty of gems in. I empowered an independent harab seraph solely for the purpose. Cant remember costs on other spells, but combined with baleful star and raging hearts it was quite fun to spam. Bligth in the most distant provinces, ragin hearts and star closer to the borders, where I hoped for an early conquest.

Thanks, you're right.

And let me say how great it is that developers are playing ang talking with us! This game is pushing for perfection. When I started the demo first time, it got me at the damn FONT. Even that is right!
