Okay, I think everyone is familiar with the whole LOLCat thing, right?
After LOLCats you then had LOLTrek:

And then you had LOLThulhu:

Isn't it about time that someone starts doing LOLDominions? It just seems perfect, and isn't it about time that Dominions becomes an Internet meme?

There were some great tag lines in the Dom2 contest for tshirt ideas. Some of them would be great with pictures. Maybe I can find the thread...

OK found the tshirt thread
Dominions II T-shirt Contest (http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB74&Number=265526&Forum= ,f74,f82,f127&Words=%2BDominions%20%20%2BContest%2 0&Searchpage=1&Limit=50&Main=265526&Search=true&wh ere=sub&Name=&daterange=1&newerval=15&newertype=y& olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post265526)
I could snag LOLDominions for a whole 6 bucks and host it on my server for free.
I can picture some really funny things with an elite unit standing in front of a pretender. We could have contests where someone creates the picture and everyone comes up with captions for it. A bandar log standing in front of a Great Earth Mother would be a funny place to start

I have a question. Does glamour cause a problem when the Vanheim army are all trying to use the urinals?

Nice idea with the Dom 2 shirt contest. Let's see what develops, if anything. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I thought the star trek ones were kind of lame, but some of the cthulu were almost a chuckle - not a fan of either plotline

Yeah I was kinda sorry that they only chose one. I really pushed for permission to do the others but couldnt get approval on it
I always thought that a mug with all the keypresses would be handy for those late nite session also

Things like this always end badly for everyone involved. Scott Krol must be stopped no matter the cost

My original idea of spreading some more Dom love would be what if someone created a series of viruses that attacked major infrastructure such as power, stock markets, etc and named them after their favorite nations? That could build brand awareness amongst folks who don't normally play strategy games. Of course there's that whole potential for society to crumble risk, which makes LOLDominions a better option in the long run.

Well, that's a small price to pay for spreading turn-based strategy gaming around the world while stopping the spread of another LOLcat-style infestation. So I wholeheartedly endorse your original ambitious idea and will do what I can to keep DHS off your back until the plan can be implemented.

Anyway, the risk of societal crumbling is pretty low if all the viruses do is rename stuff.
It seems to me that there are alot of computer controlled communications and broadcsting satellites in orbit that could be better used disseminating Dominions propaganda than Sopranos reruns.
Just food for thought.

Oh, sorry, to clarify the virus thing. I didn't mean that the viruses would simply rename things, but that each virus would be named after a Dominions nation. It would then attack an important computer network, and thus when someone talks about the NYSE being shut down they would say that it was brought down by the Atlantis, or Eriu, etc. virus.
Your idea of crashing satellites into the planet though is also a good one. At least that's what I got from it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Ahm... Crashing?
Waste of good satellites. I was thinking you could just engineer a program to have the satellites broadcast Dominions adverts instead of useless junk. Might not actually be a bad thing to have happen.
