This has come up on the discussion boards before... The AI is insanely bad at choosing targets for Berserkers/Touch of Madness, often casting it on your own archers or even mages, where it is actively harmful.

I continue to wish those spells were shifted into "only if scripted" status, as I believe is the case for Breath of Winter.

Not me. I like ToM and Growing Fury. But......not when it gets my archers.

I wish the range of the spell would be halved. Right now, it's much too hard to
make sure the right squad gets targeted. Yes, an AI fix would be great, but I
would not hold my breath - a lot of bugs and quirks are way more important.

ToM is a major annoyance like I never play man or any N nations

The range being halved would just make it more likely the mage would get himself.

Gah! Hate Hate Hate ToM. Hate.
Oreiads+adepts of silver order communion+touch of madness= dead communion. No Wratful skies, no shimmering fields no fog warriors= I lose battle. Many hundreds of Arcos died that day.

If you go to trouble to make communion, why do you allow Oreiads to cast crap unscripted? ToM is total pain after sixth turn, but at least, by then, it does fewer harm. If you script possible spells, you will not see ToM until script runs out. With Oeiads, you can always find something useful to script. I love them as mages!

I also wouldn't mind Vortex of Returning not being cast unscripted. It's a bit irritating when, say, a Master Lich decides to take his 2000+ undead army and go home, instead of squashing an trivially-defeatable army of independents. It's doubly so because Vortex puts everybody in the garrison, so I have to reassign 'em all.

I had scripted a spell, but it was out of range. Grumble.
Also, the Oreiad wasn't actually part of the communion, it just.. targeted it.

Vive les Haters!

You nature people can't understand what it is to see an old fire mage burnin' down his own Guarde Royale to ashes (with a gentle falling fires). How much I HATE.

Not to mention when a group of un-supervised fire mages all cast pheonix pyre. Never has a single arrow caused so much collateral damage http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif.
