mounted van hirdman for MA?

Now that the sacreds got fixed, wouldnt it be due to give vanheim a nonsacred van unit, like a mounted van hirdman from EA for example?
As I understand, vans are now capitol-only due to balance issues, but thematically, they are still far from extinct, arent they? So why not allow recruitment of van units worldwide, as it was before the 3.10 - just not sacred van units. Makes sense to me.

Maybe a heavy mounted hirdman? After all, its middle age with its more advanced cavalry - lances, broadswords etc. As for an oldschool Van, they may be sacred because they still worship the Aesir and fight like they fathers and grandfathers did, clad in light armor, with a shield and spear.
That might buff a non-bless vanheim, which he (imho) doesnt need with already the best infantry of the age, but it might be quite thematical in my opinion.

The sacred are always better than the run-of-the-mill troops. The van may be
heavy, but he would have to lose the glamour, his stats would have to be lower...
so maybe there would be a group of humans who are emulating the van.

Why, sacred troops are 'especially devouted to God's cause', not the most successful munchkins around there. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Look at Pangaea. White centaur is identical to a centaur warrior, and has lower protection than centaur cataphract. And a lower attack, actually.
Anyway, its just a suggestion - I like vanheim (even though I dont play it often and hate playing against it), and its a pity that vans have become a dying out nation a whole age earlier than they should. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

P.S.
To think of it, I'd be glad just to see a mounted hirdman in addition to a sacred van, helheim-style.

It's true the nerf is maybe a bit too strong : now they have to recruit indep cavalry if they want some.
True I never lost with them in SP before this nerf, even with a bad startpos and plenty of bad events at the begining of a game.
A mounted human hirdman would be great !
