You couldn't find the thread becasue it was pulled right away when it first appeared in January 2007. These are ripped off WaW graphics and that's why they were pulled again this time.

There have been a couple of attempts to create different infantry graphics for the game, none of them, IMHO, are as good as the ones we have now IN THE GAME when you need to be able to glance at a squad and see instantly how it's holding up in combat

I understand the difficulties of keeping track of which units of infantry are which at a glance, but I believe Don is absolutely correct: Combat status is the most important info overall. The challenge of keeping tally in my head (of enemy infantry capability) adds substantially to the realism of the game.
