Server down?

The server seems to be down today (Oct. 16, 8PM here in western Europe); it looked the same yesterday.

You're right. It was down, but I restarted the service and now it's back up. I don't know what happened -- I think this is the first time it's gone down in around a year or so, ever since we updated the server code the last time. And it's set to always bring itself back up when it goes down, but for whatever reason this time it didn't.

Things should be working again now!

It's back up now.

Man, I have no idea why it's been having so many problems recently, especially after a very long period (a year?) where it seemed pretty stable.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any way to make the server more stable. When I ran it locally (during development and beta testing), I was able to watch it closely and fix any problems that occured. But when it's on the public servers, I don't have any way of getting debug info from it. Making matters worse, Windows is supposed to restart the service automatically any time it crashes, but for reasons I don't understand, it just doesn't.

So unfortunately, we're left with the system where I'll have to manually restart it every time there's a problem. Sorry about that, but especially this long after release that's all I have to offer. I don't mind doing that at all, I'm just sorry that the service isn't up for you 100% of the time like I wish it could be.
