Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way to setup a random game but restricting the nations to land based, or randomly chosen from a selection of nations?

Water nations have been the bane of my Dominions life! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

Play a random map with 3 water provinces... if the game has any water nations they'll be less threatening.

How do I select the number of water provinces? I usually play the Medium Random Map.

If you just want to play the medium random map, in the opponent set up screen assign nations to the slots of opponent choices instead of leaving the setting at random.

When you start Dom_3 choose GameTools and select Random Map Creator then set the Sea Area percentage to 2. Then select the number of provinces you want for the map... medium would be about 120. It will take a few minutes to create the map. Save the map with a name easy to find such as Ace . Then you'll find the map available for playing.

**Sometimes the sea percentage doesn't get recognized correctly and you'll need to tell it to generate another map.**

Why not just pick the nations at the build so that none are water?

More mystery in not picking the nations... more useful when the game only has 5 or less AI opponents.

There are only 3 choices. Build a no water map. Choose the nations. Live with it.

4 choices. You can also use RanDom to place random starts, random nations & disable sea players, etc.
