View Full Version : How do you make "Seduction" effective?

Was experimenting with Arco and its main mages(ores) have the seduction ability. I understand it's against morale and I've tried to seduce both indy and enemy commanders in both my own dominion and other folks dominion. I probably tried somewhere between 10-15 times and I never seduced anyone. Then we went to the assassination stage where things were much more effective.
Anyway, is there a way to effectively use some of the seducers and how to you boost it? Penetration items? I recall also struggling with the seduction power of the Nagas as well.

Seduction cannot be boosted. Wearing Bear Claw / Cat Talisman has some effect on less / more resistance to seduction. A seduction attempt must pass both a MR and morale check or something, probably at some handicap, check the game manual.

Ah...So I wasn't just imagining things when I saw that seduction is pretty ineffective.
But otoh, doesn't this mean that Arco/BL has assassins? Who really cares if you FAIL the seduction attempt when you can kill the commanders? Maybe it's a two for one deal with a slight (say 5%) chance of seduction but then you get the assassination attempt with some pretty good mages.
but glad to know, that I'm not missing out on anything.

I must be lucky, cause the first time I tried an Oreiad, she seduced a barbarian commander, who was utterly useless I must say. I think the randomness in the selection of targets makes it almost worthless, at least for Oreiads who cost a darn lot of good pounds of gold, and have better things to do than flirting with barbs. (even if I have nothing to say about what they will do once I'll be the Pantokrator)

I've had decent success with Oreiads. But in that particular situation my capital province was on the verge of being seiged so it was a really low opportunity cost to send them out constantly.

Note that Seduction is an ability that varies in power based on the specific unit type. Succubus, for example, are dramatically better seducers than say Rakshasi.

Remember not to send them after female commanders. It only works on guys.

The title of this thread makes me want to answer - "Liquor, expensive jewelry, and believable lies".
Fortunately I am too classy to say that.
