hey, i'm completely new to this game and have only played a few single player games so far. I was just wondering if there is some guide around that explains the basics of hosting or joining a multiplayer game?
mainly, i have another friend who also just started playing and i wanted to know if there's some way i can set up a multiplayer game between the two of us, with AI opponents?
thanks

If you are doing TCP/IP you can do the following:
Network
Setup a Dominions Server
Choose a port number. I use one that I know its open on my router because of other games.
Choose a game and age name.
Your friend should open dominions and do Network - Connect to dominions server and type in your IP and port.
You need to open a second copy of dominions and go Network - connect to dominions server, and join your own game (still running on the background on your computer).
that's how i do it.

If i close down the first game, will i lose the progress or is there some way of saving it?

game should save every turn i believe. but if you do options and save before you quit you should be able to pick the game back upwhere you left it.
you'll probably want to set the hosting game to autohost when both turns are in so you dont have to keep clicking host.
