I had a most interesting game recently.
As LA Ermor, I held at best 11 provinces.
I chose research as my main activity.
As things happened I was forced back to my homeland only, and then (based on my choices) I cast "Utterdark."

From there I took over the world.

As Ermor, I was trapped between 3 other players.
After "Utterdark" I swam over the opponents.

Normally, I would never have cast this spell, but I could see my doom and so I did.

Comments?

About the only reason not to cast it as LA Ermor is the diplomatic reaction to it.

Ermor doesn't need troop upkeep, and its men can all see in the dark. Utterdark is perfect for it.

Yes, utterdark is great for LA Ermor. It puts your soulless roughly at the same skill level as other troops(but with higher strength and hit points), your longdead/cavalry ect a fair bit above them, and also gives you alot of protection when it comes to enemy mages(not using 100 prec spells), priests and archers.

And, with your unholy buffs giving your troops +4 attack and higher speed, you can even regularly hit cavalry/sacreds if you have utterdark up.
