By the Rat-Tail's description, animals are supposedly reluctant to attack its bearer.

Unfortunately, at least one herd of elephants didn't get the memo, and - unimpressed - ran over one of my Rat-Tailed wielding Golems.

A glance at the Dom3DB revealed that the Animal Awe flag for the Rat-Tail is unchecked. In fact, no items impart Animal Awe, and indeed no units possess the Animal Awe trait.

I don't suppose Animal Awe might be implemented in the next patch...?

EDIT: [Edi: this doesn't seem to be recognized as a /threads/images/Graemlins/Bug.gif on the shortlist...?]

I can imagine your golem hopelessly shaking his whip at a herd of elephants... "Babar sit ! I said sit ! AArgh !"

are elephants tagged as animals?

I'm pretty sure I've seen Animal awe (from Rat-Tail, no less) work on Bandar monkeys. Got the little flash as each unit didn't attack, just like regular awe.

I wonder if it isn't checked for trampling?

Hmmmm, it seems you're right. I just tested: works against monkeys, AND it works against elephants (including against trample).

I suppose I fell on the wrong side of probability: apparently not one of the 5 elephants failed the awe check...unlikely but not impossible, I guess.

After checking the DB & seeing none of the 'aawe' flags activated, I just assumed it wasn't implemented. Sorry for the confusion.

If it can't be seen in the game, it isn't in the DB. Animal awe is one of those hidden tags.
