When combine with f9 or d9 or f9&d9 bless,i noticed that
some weapon with aoe effect, like shadow brand, stone sword,
lost their aoe effect. This happens when u equip that aoe
weapon to a sacred commander, and the commander was blessed,
then, the weapon just lost their aoe ability. Is that a bug?

Well i noticed the same. In my helheim mp game i play a F9W9E9N4 bless strategy and many of my commanders use shadow brands. The fire weapon effect seems to override the AOE effect of the weapon.
However i changed my strategy and stopped producing this weapon. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Is this a bug? I'm not sure. Lets discuss.

It's probably an unintended side effect of the bless effect, so it can be considered a bug, but I do not know if there is any way to actually fix this.
What happens with blessed F9/D9 troops is that their weapons get a secondaryeffect of either "bless fire" or "bless death", which are both weapons. It is probable that the bless secondaryeffect overwrites the aoe secondaryeffect, since you can only have either secondaryeffect (takes effect on hit) or secondaryeffectalways (happens no matter what, which is what aoe effects are). So the bless effect is added, weapon has a secondaryeffect and the secondaryeffectalways is disabled.
That's my reading of it anyway, but I need to ask Johan to look at it.

would that mean also that an F9D9 bless would only give one of the two?

That'd be the logical conclusion, but it needs to be tested. Note that we are talking mostly about item-based weapons with aoe secondaries being affected, so I don't know if that is in any way significant.

That is a good effect to keep the double 9 blessed troops from being too overpowered.

F9D9 is so expensive that they *ought* to be overpowering, frankly.
The only fix would be to have the blessing add the secondary effect for the blessing *to* the secondary effect that the weapon already has (or keep going down the chain until it hits a weapon with no secondary effect).

If you don't mind sharing, what pretender are you using and what kind of crazy scales were required to obtain a F9W9E9N4 bless? Thanks

It is an imprisoned Arch Mage, dom 5 and all scales besides luck (which is balanced) are 3 at the worse side.
Dominions let you play a lot of working strategies. The relative low dominion spread helps much against the bad scales.
