Dominions Gold ?

Well I for one would have been very happy if at some point in the future Shrapnel/IW would give us a gold/collectors edition of dominions. I would imagine it to consist of COE and all DOM incarnations, all patches, fan made contributions (maps, mods, tools) and some nice non digital item/s (manuals, excerpt from IW, printed map perhaps, T-shirt etc.)

I wonder what are the opinions on this in the community.

I would buy one, regarding the content. But since dom2&dom3 are still full price such an edition would probably be around 80-100$ and then i wouldnt buy cuz i already own dom2&3 http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Well I would hope such an edition be cheaper since dom-II is superseded by III. Yet, for me personally it wouldn't matter much, since TBS in general and Fantasy TBS in particular are in such a decline that I hardly ever buy (nor play) new games. So dom-III gives me so much hours of replay what make it worth its steep price tag for me.
Hey, It would seem that my next pc game purchase will take place sometime on 2009 (Stardoc, no-name-yet-MOM2).

I would say replace the current DOM_3 with an updated release which includes updated doc files and manual. Then anyone who purchased a previous copy would be able to purchase the new version for a large discount.

I wish we could donate money towards getting specific major bugs fixed.

Dom 4 is unlikely, we're more likely to have items from our wish list put into patches, if it's possible, remember Dom 3 has stretched coding all the way back from Dom 1 and to put in some of the features would be rather difficult.

Saving the most obvious question for last: Is Dominions 4 the next Illwinter project?

Changes, add-ons and patches for Dom3 first. There are lots of ideas that could be implemented in later expansions for Dom3. What will happen later we don't know yet. It would be fun to make another type of game, to start from scratch. But it will be hard not to think in terms of Dominions. Perhaps an RPG in the Dominions setting, RTS Dominions, Dominions SPACE, I don't know.



There have been a few discussions about it since, but the original answer was "we'll do what feels fun". Making another game might be fun, but making another Dominions might be fun as well. We might not get Dominions 4, but we'll probably get something.
