I was reading over the patch log, and happened to notice the following line

"* LA Abba."

Please, don't tell me you're planning on creating a nation of Swedish pop stars that are only commonly known in Australia!

I love it! Yes, yes, please! Super troopers, men after midnight, and of
course, the unique summon, the Dancing Queen!

Of course, I just dated myself, but I happened to listen to the Helloween cover
of "Lay All Your Love on Me" earlier today... and had to post something.

I tried googling for Zamzummite, just for kicks, because it sounded like a cool word and I doubted I'd get anything. Google suggested Zamzummim instead, and that got me to this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zamzummim) Wikipedia article about biblical giants, and links to other giants such as Rephaim, Emim and Horim.

Pretty cool, even though zamzummite seems to mean 'buzz-buzzer'.

Hssss! The sun is our enemy!

Or I might move my computer so I can see what I draw http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Well, from that statement I think I can conclude that:

a) It's a bright & sunny day in Sweden
b) The sun shines straight into the room you're currently occupying.

So: Enjoy the beautiful spring day KO! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Ooh, do we get a nation of biblical giants with a Gog/Magog pretender? Actually, that'd be unique - a pretender choice that gave you two chassis instead of just the one. I guess balance would be a nightmare though, so maybe it's not that likely.

I'm going to have to protest here and clarify that ABBA is fairly well known all over western civilization.

If you change your mind
honey I've been first in line
baby I'm still free
take a chance on Dominions 3

Hmmm...

I have some friends who can not read English but often ask me "What is that unit?"(In native language,of course).
But I individually also find it difficult to catch up meaning of the new words from Progress Log. Don't meantion google and wiki...

Then usually I can only answer "God knows it"(God=KO...)

This problem appears to be more seriou these days... (To be honest, I can still not spell the units name from Lanka without opening the game)

Maybe one day I will suggest illwinter releasing a Dominions Dictionary(or as part of the upgraded manual...)

I find it interesting that Gath (MA, LA) and Acha units and commanders have names that have significance in hebrew, coming from bible and ancient israelite myths. For sure, they are not pure israelite, I can recognize some influence of ancient myths of nations long past (philishtites, moibites and more) but since the myths overlap it makes no real difference in the sense of familiarity to me.

I'm really looking forward to these nations' as they have a close bearing on my nations origins.

Thank you IW for going to such lengths to learn the history and myths of this region in ancient middle east and reflecting them in the (already very) rich world of dominions.

Oh, and I hope IW will add angels as summons to one or more of them, after all angel myths started in this area in this time (well actually they have early roots in Zoroastrianism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel) ) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
