Can anyone help me with some technical issues? I've been doing a little bit of modding, but nothing messing around with Dominions itself. In any case, now when I try to start dominions up, I get the message Nagot gick fel! and the message tells me Mod has no #modname. This happens as soon as I try to load up dominions, i've tried removing all my mods, which did not work, and i tried uninstalling and reinstalling. The game is a legitimate copy with a unique cd key, and i cant even get it to run completely vanilla off the install. Can someone please help me figure out what is going on? Thanks all.

There's a .dm file in Dominions 3\mods\ that doesn't have #modname "name" command. That's the only instance which has given me that message.

Yes, that was naturally my thought since I have done some basic modding, but all my mods had a #modname. I then removed all the mods from the mod folder and tried starting dominions and again it did not work. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and I am still getting the error message which doesnt seems possible since there are now no mods that have ever been installed on the current install. Can anyone figure this out?

Are you on a mac or linux? I believe mods are stored in some weird location with one of those.

Surely you meant mac or vista. They're stored in ~/dominions on Linux by default, in plain sight.

Atreides, look for the "Technical problem" thread in the Multiplayer and AARs forum, it's described there for Vista users how to find their Dom3 game folder.

Endoperez, Sombre and Ich, thank you two so much for getting on this so fast. I followed the technical problems thread ich directed me to. I will write all this because me experience was a little different. I was unable to find the folder AppData that would eventually lead me to the correct user files (it was supposed to be in my user folder according to the thread) but a quick file search turned up the folder. From there, I made my may through the program files and dominions menus to where several files had been saved, including a mod file generated by the unit creator I was using that had not created a #modname label within the file, causing a crash while starting dominions. Have to admit, I have my issues with Visya, but this is by far the most it has done to annoy me so far, I mean seriously what were they thinking. Anyways, thanks for the help all.

For future reference: Entering %appdata% as location into your Explorer window or whatever didn't open the application data folder?
