In my current game I noticed a soulless who got feebleminded. Is it WAD? Where is the mind that got feeble?

It ate a brain that had gone off perhaps?

This is in the same category as a limping wyrm. The game does not check against the possibility/impossibility of the generic afflictions but it does for the more exotic ones (such as "Tail chopped off"). WAD, though it is a bit counterintuitive.

I have wondered if mindless units can be the victim of Mindburn or Soul Slay, as they have no mind to burn, nor soul to slay. Further, what happens if you GoR a mindless unit? Do they lose the mindless attribute?

At least Mind blast doesn't work on them and I think that MB and SS do not.
As for GoR, I don't know

I think Gift of Reason just makes the units commanders, as usual, without removing the mindless tags.

if mindless is then immune to Soul Slay, you can make Soul Slay immune SC's.

Golems already are. They have Astral and are thus vulnerable to Magic Duel, but that's one precedent at least. There might be more summons. Machaka also has that huge statue.

I would love to see this fixed since it would be easy to do, and makes absolutely no sense. But I know there are many things to fix.

Poison golems, gargoyles, Agartha statues all make soulslay-immune thugs/SCs.

Crushers. don't forget crushers. 110 hp, 24 prot, mindless. 8 gems to make, 20 more to GoR. is that a good price?

To my mind this situation is just overlooked by designers and it may be fixed somewhen)
What about iron dragons?

I thought they were unaffected by diseases, just like undead. They're carriers, with rotten, infested flesh in their metal claws...

I don't mind lifeless getting diseased as a battle wound affliction -- they got whacked and something inside broke, and now they're a lemon. Nothing's gonna make them right again.
But I agree that it makes no sense for plagues and miasma and Inkpot End, etc., to make lifeless units sick.

Undead are supposed to be immune to shadow bolt according to the spell description, but they get feeble minded from that.

Shadow bolt doesn't feeblemind, it paralyzes. Netherbolt and Nether Darts feeblemind and they are not immune to those.

Disease immunity should perhaps exist as a unit tag. Would be automatically on for lifeless.

We can ask for that. It's another one of those issues I've never noticed, hence it has not been on the shortlist.

I said I thought lifeless were immune to disease, like undead. I just tested it. A diseased Golem didn't get any afflictions or lose any hp in my quick test. I didn't manage to test if he'd heal damage normally because he died when ordered to retreat. I thought mindless died when left alone on the battlefield, not when they were ordered to run away, but at least I didn't try it in MP. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I didn't mean simply in reference to lifeless however, Endoperez.
I was hoping a tag (and possibly an icon) would lead to the modding option to create disease-immune creatures.

Hmmmm.
(a) Can a Golem be affected by Plague?
(b) Is the Golem then a carrier?

"Shadow bolt doesn't feeblemind, it paralyzes. Netherbolt and Nether Darts feeblemind and they are not immune to those."
Yep, you are correct. There were some netherdarts hitting in there as well. Was likely that that got em.
