Going to Thailand - hurrah!

Hopefully nothing will go wrong LlamaServer-wise while I'm away. I don't intend to check my e-mail much or at all for the next two weeks, so it is up to the game admins to keep everything smooth. Admins - if you get knocked out of your game, remember to pass on the password to someone still playing. Noone wants to carry on watching a game they're not playing any more.

Wish me luck in not dying of heat exhaustion! (Apparently it's 39 degrees C there at the moment!)

You realise that if you die the whole multiplayer community will come to a halt. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Just kidding, but be careful out there, for all of us. Please.

Oh, and have fun! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

L,
Have a great trip. Avoid drinks with the name "Surpise" in them.

Probably not going to happen because of the humidity I'd expect there, but it will still wear you out. Have a fun trip.

Do you mean it's not especially humid, so I'll be okay, or it is especially humid, in which case I don't understand?

PS Thanks everyone!

Never mind, it seems that heat exhaustion isn't what I thought it meant. I expected something a little closer to dehydration.

Oh. I thought it meant something like dehydration as well.

I shall drink a lot. I'll carry so much water on my back that I shall be like a camel.

HAve fun http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

And yep, avoid more expensive positions on the menu, especially if you do not understand them. And when something has 'chicken' in a name it can sometimes be really not what you are expecting http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Oh, look for Szechuan restaurant. Yep, that is Chinese, but maybe they have it there too. I got addicted to true Chinese cuisine.

I'm back! Huzzah. Back to the land of breakfast cereal, commonplace bread, reasonable weather and too much time sat in front of the computer (the first three were the things I missed most about home).

Thailand is a most excellent place, and comes highly recommended. It was actually my first time outside Europe (except for Canada when I was a kid), so it was a good experience for me too. The Thais are lovely, they're super-friendly. Even when they're trying to scam you they're still pretty nice.

I have to say though, it was a bit on the hot side. The one day we actually knew what the temperature was, it was 44 degrees C. Toasty. I was actually quite pleasantly surprised to find that I can survive that kind of temperature, being as even UK summers often get a bit much for me.

Maybe I will dig out a couple of photos at some point. Only been back a few hours so far.

White guy in Asia? Of course everybody is trying to scam you. And become your best friend at the same time. You're the rich foreigner who comes from a land where the streets are paved with gold. Welcome back to home, llamabeast.
