Air Shield and Blade Wind?

Quick question: Does the air shield spell protect you from mundane spells like Blade Wind and Gifts from Heaven?

blade wind = yes
gifts from heaven = no

Blade wind sends out individual missiles (like arrows), whereas Gifts from Heaven does AoE damage.
