Recently in an MP game my Pretender faced the "Eater of the Gods" horror.

My pretender won easily, and it said the horror had routed. He disappeared as expected and only my pretender was left on the battlefield. Now comes the strange part. My pretender sat there and seemed to still be fighting an invisible enemy. My pretender could not hit whatever it was he was supposed to be fighting, but the "invisible" opponent would hit my pretender every single round until he finally died. Is this a special feature of the "Eater of the Gods"? Or is it just a bug?

At least one of the doom horrors has multiple forms, one of which is hard to see.
It can be still killed, but it is not easy. This is what may have happened,
check the -dddd log.

By the way, some doom horrors are simply stupid. Like the one that does 320 points
of irresistable, always hit damage per turn. I have never kept my opinions about
irresistable melee damage to myself... I like the doom horrors being super tough.
I do not like them being able to win with abilities that are simply cheap.

IIRC that is the Eater of Gods second form, it has one more thats even tougher! The reason its invisible is it is one of teh only units in the game that has "true ethereal". Welcome to hell.

Xietor is right. Mage bane will make easy(er) work of it.

Well, what do you think my horror magnet wields? Still, there is one
mage slayer in the game, and thus one commander safe from horrors...
