I'm wondering if some details can be provided for the performance boost listed within the patch thread. I'm very excited, as I've had some turn hostings last over two hours.

Will this allow the game to utilize multiple CPUs ?

Will this allow the game to move some of the turn hosting processing tasks into RAM usage and away from the CPU ?

Is this an improvement for FPS on the battlefield ?

Or maybe finally a fix for the ATI troubles?

(15fps on a HD2900XT, apparently it is a problem with SDL and ATI. Unlikely to be fixed as it is probably driver-side, but one can hope.)

CTD before it even got the game started. So that feature was removed.
