I heard that statues will not be affected by the petrification from Aegis, since they are stones already. Just want to confirm since I am gonna use Marble Oracle to kill a cyclop with aegis.

Correct. Aegis cannot petrify any unit with the hidden "stone being" tag. Gargoyle is one.

Gargoyle is indeed one. But Marble Oracle? I would presume yes, but might want to test it out in SP first to be sure.

Why didn't they keep it simple by making it not work vs lifeless?
What was that sound like a can opening?
OH GOD WORMS.

Marble Oracle is indeed a stonebeing. There's a list of units with the stonebeing flag in the 3.10 Dom3 DB thread. The information was supposed to have been added to the DB already, but had been left out. It has been updated for 3.17. There's maybe a dozen of them all told, but the Agarthan statue summons are all stonebeings. Monolith, Sacred Statue, Gargoyle, Living Statue and Crusher were some of the others.

So we can use the Stone Sword safety with Marble Oracle too ?

Are kings of elemental earth and earth elementals immune to petrification as well?

Neither of those have the stonebeing 1 tag, so no, they are not. You can easily check it out in the wiki (http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Earth_Elemental_%28size_6%29).

But a marble Oracle can get a disease, which is pretty strange.

Disease doesn't hurt it. Both lifeless and undead can get the diseased icon. They are covered in germs, but won't lose HP monthly or get additional afflictions (from the disease).

Holy hell. I had an Earth King SC running round in a game with the stone sword on the assumption it was immune to it. One unlucky MR roll and that could have been embarrassing.
You'd sort of think the Earth Kings should be immune to it.

I think I had a diseased mummy once, that didn't lose HPs but started picking up afflictions... but it was a long time ago and I just gave it a dose of Chalice, so I might be remembering wrongly.

I'd prefer if the Chalice damaged all undead in the current province with holy fire, instead of healing them. 3.24 please! :D

Only if Gift of Health does the same.

Well, for the Chalice, it would be thematic, at least. I'd have no objections to GoH not healing undead. Burning them would be weird.

I just looked at the King of Deeper Earth--it says he's made of stone and soil. Soil is complicated and partly alive, and could conceivably be destroyed through petrification!

Odd that the Telestic Animate is a stonebeing since it says in its description that it's made of wood.

It's probably petrified wood.

Well, the petrified wood is very brittle.

Ah, but how do you know it's made of wood unless you first build a bridge out of one?
;)
