During further testing I discovered removing the arena magic site does not prevent the death matches. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Maybe if we're lucky an option will be included to disable the arena death match... until this time mapmakers will want to provide the AI with immobile pretenders or small size(2) pretenders.

Quantum_mechanic did answer your original question with an excellently detailed solution. Another question that could have been asked was (is) "Can random arena death matches be disabled?". Arena magic sites only provide extra gold /threads/images/Graemlins/icon41.gif for the province they are in and nothing more.

I never considered participating in death matches because if you win you have to continue to participate until you die, and if you die you're dead (not good says master of the obvious). There are usually better things for your hero to be doing as well. Getting experience and a weapon for winning isn't worth the cost (imho). They are also means to have computer operated pretenders, prophets, and SC's get themselves killed.http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif So that is a benefit for the non-participants!

We already have a deadly seas mod which I like to use sometimes, so I I'm sure that a Dominions3 wizard /threads/images/Graemlins/icon40.gif is capable of granting your discovered wish. A new thread may not be necessary because these wizards are also avid forum readers.

My question is how was NT Jedi able to answer the question that you didn't actually ask http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif but wanted to know. The answer must be that the FORCE is strong in NT Jedi !!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif

It's because this is not the first recent thread about the Debacle Matches. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Read the thread Re: Death Match Competition for more information on this subject.
