Command and Spotters Question

Dear all,

I would like to be able to call air strikes and/or artillery with any unit on the battlefield but it doesn't work.
Command and Spotters in preferences is off but if I call artillery with a non-HQ Unit it shows "....can't assign artillery".

I use the CD-Versions of WinSPWW2 and WinSPMBT.

Looking forward to any hint.

I dont think I have ever tried that button set at off, since even the original SP1 came out back in 97-98 http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

I'll try to have a look when I get some free time.

I just tested this. I bought 25 pounders then a number of infantry companies and set SPOTTERS preference to OFF.

They can call for arty with that preference set to OFF if they are not an "x0" unit but only IF they have a radio assigned to them.
