What spell do you most often over use? (Any type of spell, summon, ritual, etc. *Other than the obvious blessing*)
What spell do you end up using the most in any givien game?

Summon Earthpower. It's always useful.

Summon Earthpower, Blessing, or Cloud of Death. Probably Blessing gets the plurality.

Cloud of Death is very nice for a gem-free spell.
Summon Earthpower... needs to be scripted, AFAICT. Pity. As an easy, gem-free booster that also gives regeneration, this seems much more obvious for an E2 mage than, say, Astral Shield is for an astral mage.
Edit -- Reinvigoration, not regeneration. Need more sleep.

I always have a script or two of common battle spells for my national mages to spam. But I have to say that Paralyze is probably my most spammed spell of all time. Its relatively easy to get astral mages for any nation and Paralyze is a cheap, easy to cast anti-SC spell.

Hmmm. I'm fairly sure I have seen unscripted mages occasionally cast Summon Earthpower.

Drain Life. One of the few spells you can spam for 50 turns without fatigue knocking you out at some point.

Fireball, Falling Fire, Fire cloud, Astral Fire, Fire-anything!
Also Lighting-anything ...
I like the USSR-army-like method: two days of heavy artillery bombing followed by a huge infantry swarm covered by an heaviest mass of tanks.
All in subtlety & shrewdness. Yes.

But can you? You can spam it for 5 turns and then you're at the mercy of the spellcasting AI, which will probably cast Raise Skeletons. Unless you have researched nothing but Alteration.

Sure. Put a Standard of the Damned on a non-caster.

Ah. Well then in that case, you can spam Raise Skeletons ad nauseum too, with Skullface + Amulet of Resilience. In fact you can spam lots of things ad nauseum, from Acid Bolt to Falling Frost. I thought you meant "spam unequipped."

Ahh, this brings up a question... Can you equip a commander with lets say Acid Bolt then convert that commander to a unit. Will it still have the equiped item as a unit? and will it still fire Acid Bolts? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

No, it will not, and so it won't be able to.

Although I keep wondering whether, if you Enslave a Theurg Communicant, he still participates in Communions. Would be a handy thing for Astral Travel/Gateway.

That's a fascinating and weird idea.

Theurg Communicant troops charge forward but are effected when a master casts twist fate so I'd say they are fully in the communion.
