How you equip a four-armed sc?

Generally, single weapon with Area of Effect is about as useful as huge number of attacks. The SC must use all of its attacks in the same grid square of enemies. If you don't know what I'm talking about, press 'g' while viewing a battle.

Because of the above, one of the one-handed weapons with Area of Effect (Fire Brand, Frost Brand, Shadow Brand) and weapons or shields with good special abilities are probably most useful. Resistances or immunities (from e.g. Scultata Volturnus), protective abilities (Charcoal Shield gives Fire Shield, Vine Shield will drastically lower the amount of attacks your enemies get to make against you) and perhaps an armor-piercing or negating attack (Duskdagger) if you're expecting enemy SCs.
All SCs want Luck and as high magic resistance as possible with as low Encumberance as possible, so you shouldn't go overboard with shields. Depending on what items you want to put on his other slots, you can increase his magic resistance with Lead Shield (which, unfortunately, is heavier than many armors) or give him Faithful the sword, to bring Luck.

Can you equip a second shield? If so, I'd suggest charcoal shield, shield of awe, shadowbrand, heart-finder sword, then fear helmet, jade armour, winged boots, reinvigoration amulet, and magic resistance amulet.

Even with only 2 hands you can do 2 shields, I believe? With Boots of Trampling. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif But 4 handed entities can use multiple shields, or even 2 bows if they like.

With four arms, you're probably only getting one miscellaneous slot, and you're also probably not an enc-0 undead.

Blood Thorn + Faithful + Frost Brand + Charcoal Shield

would give you life draining, luck, some cold area damage, and a fire shield. It would also require blood, astral, water, earth and fire IIRC, so not exactly the easiest combo.

Hmmm I wonder how many bows you can give one.

That's easy to answer, two-handed weapons take two slots.

A nice cheap combo is vine shield, eye shield, faithful and a random other magic weapon. You'll need reinvig though.

In the case of only 1 slot, I'd take the MR boosting helmet over horror helmet, and then the amulet of reinvig.

They can use two bows (two storm bows would be nice). I'm pretty sure of that one.

Mmmm, 2 Storm Bows, Boots of Quickness, Rainbow Armor, Girdle of Might, Starshine Skullcap..... Only need, you know, W, A, S, N..... Easy as pie! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

As for melee, if you can't afford fancier shields or can't get the reinvig you want, you can always do a couple of Weightless Kite Shields, for 0 Enc, they have great Parry value for Cons2.

Hmmm that spurts out another thought. Ive had some good results by putting a monolith up front and let it take the brunt while my archers and mages did damage. A "mobile monolith" could be interesting.

If you went total defense, what could you rack it up to? 4 shields? And a number of shields are also offensive. Some armor also. Let it wade in on an "attack rearmost" command.

Depends what you are up against, but sopmething like Aegis + Barrier + charcoal shield + lucky coin, reinvig/MR items, maybe helm of horror would be a can'o'mobile hurt.

What good is a Horror Helm without Awe? Isn't the goal to kill?

True, awe might work work better than fire shield...Aegis will kill more anyway, right?

All depends on what turn of the game, what will it be fighting(undead, magical, demons, or regular units), what levels have you researched, does the 4-armed sc have any magic paths, are your opponents human, computer or both, is this your pretender?

More details provide more accurate answers, but I can say that usually 4-armed SCs have only one misc slot which is usually best equipped with an anti-magic amulet. Much depends on the above questions.

Im not sure on the horror vs kill thing. My concept wasnt so much as an SC as a barrier/distraction tank with a backup army doing the damage. In that case, the "cannot touch" type of items (cant see, cant hit, flee, etc) would be a usable build.

Ive REALLY got to get the GodMaker program down pat. I would love to add some of these to SemiRand to have them show up against me in a solo game. Im not much for playing SCs but I wouldnt mind coming up against some well-designed ones. Or even set some of them up as "independent pretender without a nation yet" in some designed province guarding a prime chokepoint on the map.
