My home province was attacked by a stealth army and the castle is now under siege. I've got a big army in the province next to it, but after issuing a Move order I'm unable to select Move and Patrol from the orders list - the option simply isn't present in the list!??! The castle is still there (only slightly dented from the siege).
I loaded another game for testing, but had no problems - Move and Patrol was selectable from the orders list after the Move order was issued. The problem has only occured in this game.
Anyone else had this problem? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

Only when my castle is under siege. Any Move order now must combat the besieging enemy, so Move and Patrol is not a meaningful order.

When was this changed? According to the manual you need to set Move and Patrol to attack the besieging enemy.
So this means every unit I send to the province will no longer safely enter the castle when it's under siege?

Move and patrol is useful before the castle is under siege, not after. It was never (to my knowledge) used for entering the castle. The whole point of move and patrol is to allow reinforcements to assist province defense and/or units that are already in the province with patrol orders.
To word it another way, move and patrol to protect the province before it is attacked. When the castle is under siege, the province has already been lost and any units moving into the province will attack the sieging army.
(Sorry if that is not clear. It is 3:23 am here and I should have been in bed hours ago. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
