Howdy,

I have a question (not complaining just a question), How are the starting positions determined?

Are they random or are they set?

The reason I ask is looking over the map I see Crowns (which I understand are capitols of nations)

One have 2 provinces to explore that are waste only and share a small island with another nation that is in the middle of a forest and have the water nation right off the coast.

One has 6 provinces that surround the capitol and has good income and resource land and space to grow.

One is in the upper cornor and has only mountians and 3 provinces.

and one is in the southern left Island and has 6 surronding provinces with ok resources (nothing great) but the whole Island to himself,

I can not see the other 2 crowns for some reason.

If its random then I have no problem (actually I have no problem anyway) Since this is my 2nd game I just want to know what to expect in the future.

I will live with what I have and make the most of it.

Like I said, no complaints...only facts and not knowing how its done is my reason for writing.

I think you did a GREAT job getting this going and let the best Arco win!!!

Hey grudge, good point. Since I'm a rush power I don't have much of a problem with this map, although I think most of the maps/games are rather crowded. This could be a problem for slow starting nations.

Hmmm, I see what you mean Grudge, capitals are random, but I really don't know what's up with the crowns. Starting positions are a little unbalanced ( I too started pretty badly ).
I can fix starting positions but It'll take a little more time to get it started then, do we stay like we are or do we restart?

The crowns are victory hexes, and not capitals. They are used when Victory points are set to determine victory. They will also raise your dominion the same way a temple does. Someone correct me or elaborate if I am wrong.

If you want we can restart if someone started bad and too close, fixing starting provinces is easy but deciding what they would be is rather hard, I've been trying to set some starting provinces but I just can't seem to make it fair some would have 5 surrounding lands and some just 3.
But either way It's no trouble just say so,
I'm used to starting in the worst possible place,
in every game I'm playing I started in a swamp or waste or boxed in and I menage it somehow!?

I have 2 provinces (not including the capitol) which are both wasteland and a very small island with another 'good ol boy' on it.

since I just played my second turn I guess i'm stuck with it.

I just wanted to know if it was random generated so that I would know what to expect in future games.

I plyed SP with this same group 4 times to see how the races would start and in 3 of 4 they all started in pretty much the same place.

This time they where almost 180 opposite.

I will live and learn so that next time I will adress this before we start.

If you want to start over, GREAT.....but I don't see that happening now.

So good luck and take pity on a poor begger if he stops by and asks for a gold piece to feed his pitiful little army of militia because thats all he can afford (sigh)....

I've received a number of PM's regarding this game, so we'll restart after all unfortunately.
World of Warhammer is too big bwaha it has about 210 provinces that is too much for 8 players, that makes it 26 per players, and if we decided to play that map we'd have to take on more players which will take more time... and so on!

So,we restart, I'll work out best starting locations with Llama, and when we start again I expect to speed up a little we wasted too much time already!

They're victory points. They're built into the map. In this case, they may have higher chance of magic sites, but basically they DON'T MATTER, since this is a fight to the death. You can ignore the crowns. I am Hinnom, and the gods go against me. After we restarted, I was in a situation with one province between me and my nearest neighbor. We agreed on a compromise, which left me with only 3 provinces adjacent to my capital as I was adjacent to two sea provinces (Maybe just one...not sure). But our agreement also left me at a tactical disadvantage, as none of my capitol adjacent provinces were adjacent to each other, which meant I had one wasted turn just trying to conquer each adjacent province. Then with my dominion in the tank, an earthquake destroyed my temple. Luckily, I had built a new one, but spending the money on the temple, meant no new troops for two turns. None of the provinces I conquered were high gold producers. Next, with no where else to turn I attacked a high defense Indie province. Mucho Avalon Knights and Longbowmen. Literally....every one of my troops is dead. No money, few provinces, no armies, not very many or powerful mages, last in dominion, near the bottom on everything else.

And this is with Luck 1.

I have sent a meassage to everyone in the game but I feel that I by the time they read it it will be too late.

I have a mutual defense immediate defense pact with one nation and a 3 turn Nap with another.

Of course those 2 got into a war and I was called upon.

I have asked a few people and the general concensus is to ask the attacking party to cease and desist. And if not then my nap will be honored by this act.

I am a NOOB and have no idea what to do so I will honor the mutual defense agreement and if I receive no public statement of peace between the two parties I will have to attack next turn.

I always try and be honorable and hope this doesn't carry over to other games.

I have no illusions of winning this war but feel I need to make a stand and live with it as no action at all is a cowards way out.

Fomoria, PLEASE cease your war and we can still be friends, I hope you get this message and respond immediately as this is your official notice that if I don't hear from you or you decide not to cease your war then i have no choice.

I would like to point out that in the beginning of this game we said NAP were to be honored, but I would like to point out that GrudgeBringer did not keep his NAP terms with me. I know his position but a 3 turn pact means he waits three turns. The first turn from when he communicated his intent to me he followed it with his large god army. If this is a 3 turn nap I missed something.

I would like all of you to watch out for this and if this is how he views a three turn peace agreement then all of you have an easy time with him too.

I am currently at war with Pangea and now Arco but I will do my best to best them. If anyone feels joining this conflict and not staying at peace all game is the right thing, I would appreciate the help.

I DID attack on the next turn...HOWEVER, I sent you a privite message explaining my position and until this turn Appox 3 turns after... and you losing a battle did you respond and not to me but too the forum.

IF you would have answered and said you would pull back or perhaps give them a warming or make SOME kind of agreement with me I believe I have demonstrated I am always more than fair.

Perhaps I am wrong in this situation and from your view I would take that stance...but I don't understand WHY you waited until now when I said in my privite message to you that I would wait to send my turn in until you answered...you didn't answer.

I still think you will win this war but I have givin my word and the die is cast now. I still don't understand why you waited until you lost your fortress before you said anything...

Its a little late for this game, but in the future I will not be making agreements that call for immediate action as I now see how they are a no win situation.

My apologies to you Cerlin as you have my utmost respect and I hope that you can see my point of view as I can yours so that there is no carry over in the future.

(Sigh) First Anticipatiant and I where allies agianst Fomoria and he broke his computer.

Now Bwaha has to go on an emergency, and he had taken over for Anti and we finally had just took out Fomoria BUT....I just pulled all my armies out of that area with a number of provinces with small PD and surrounded by Pangea with a VERY small army left just to keep out the Barbarians.

I will now have to fight my way back into that continent and while Mictaln taked him down in his area (I think Mictlan is in position to attack by his territory).

I can wait until we get a replacement or we can continue as we have 60 some turns invested.

Now that Bwaha is gone I think we all know who the winner is going to be.....but I am willing to try and take out the rest of the AI's and then learn something from Executor aboout how to finish off a game.

Here is how I see it....

Executor Is WAY ahead and if we where all human players and no AI's we might have a chnce to gang up on him and make a go at it.

As it stands there is no way in Hell that I am going to defeat him as I have got my hands full with Pangea as AI.

Even if Mictlan went AI I would be fighting a Late era war on two sides that I couldn't win.

I was really having a good time winning my first war in concert with an ally but in Dom 3, 70 turns is around 3 months or more and folks have life get in the way.

I suggest we declare Executor the winner and as much as I would like to finish Pangea off it would be very boring for Mictlan to just get stronger and not attack anyone.

I am open to ideas though.

But I want to say THANK YOU to all that have hung in there and to Bwaha for taking Anti's place when he broke his Comp. I had a good time and enjoyed playing with all of you. And I have learned a LOT about this game watching you guys!!

Well its like this, I ran my turn and my pretender ran into the Ghost Ship Armada. The pd broke so she ran. Then I looked for her, nope not in the game. I checked and looked using various methods but she's not in the game. Then I tried calling god and that option wasn't available. In the hall of fame she's fine, and in the pretenders screen she's fine. You can imagine the problems that ensued. I will never buy anouther computer that runs vista. Never again I swear. I was fine with win98. This &o$ $!mn os sucks worse than a shop vac. I almost used my laptop as a frisbie this morning...:smash:

Take the 69 turn from the roll back and put it in your Blitzkrieg file but be sure to delete what's in the file first. Than you do your turn again (do not send the old turn it will cause the game to crash) and send it.
I see the other turns have been received so I don't think there should be any problems.

It was bound to happen, with this stupid economy I have been working more and enjoying it less!!!

I Staled last turn (no, don't roll it back) and to be honest I have gone about as far as my limited knowledge will allow me to.

I want to compliment Executor on his great handling of his nation and Admining this game.

I also want to thank Bwaha for subbing for Anticipatiant and wanting to give it a go,

I will hang on if you want but I honestly don't know what or how to do anything but build up troops that can be slaughtered by the hundreds!!

I would use it as a learning expieriance but I don't know what I am learning..
