TENTATIVELY we will test CBM blitzes as a first test of a script-generated mod-using game on the blitz server.

CBcomplete_1.3 is required.
Im not going to bother explaining that very much right now. If you want more info then check with the IRC channel or use the regular Blitz games.

I think this will work now altho we might have to wait for the next patch and a couple of server fixes that are scheduled to be in it. Please let me know of any strangeness or quirks. Does it work or not?

Good, I will leave it up a few days.
If no one seems interested then I will try some other variation for awhile.

True. Also it seemed, most of the CBM games.
I have no problem dropping it for something else. It was abit of a peace offering since Ive never really shown the interest in CBM or IRC that some felt I should.

Some of the variants Im cosidering would be:
Chaos_ (i.e. my "Poke in the Eye" map)
SemiRand_ (running Ballbarians SemiRand program against each map)
vsAI_ (blitzs with 2 or 3 AIs randomly added so that people new to MP can start out allying with another human player against allied AIs)
vs_ (modded to allow nations to play themselves such as EA_Ulm vs EA_Ulm)

I need to increase the sizes to include the new limits.
And include more generators like Harbringers for wraparounds, and Dom3, GIMP, maybe HoMM.
Also might include daily generating of variants like Tower, Pipeline, NoIndepents, Chaos, and SemiRand.

i dont really know whats possible with an automated server.
i personally just like cbm. but it would of course be cool if the players themselves could change the map/settings nad mods being played
im sure there is a reason why its not being done now though ^^

Mostly its waiting for better guidelines and methods of noticing dead games and killing them off. When a game can run for months it wouldnt take long for players playing with this to make any server finally puke. Maybe it could work for pbem but not direct connect games.

One suggestion though, the options for VPs may be a bit overly limited, at least for larger non-blitz games.
Also, if you added some of the other predesigned maps like Pasha's Alexander and Bering for example, that would be awesome. 8 )

If it ever went online for real then, yes I would be adding quite a few maps. And mod options also since the next patch should have that working completely.

seriously though im really surprised in the lack of interest. this is like the easiest possible way to get a game going.
oh well my ulm will be waiting... even if by now id prob design my pretender different ^^

Is a Blitz game like a 4 hour session ect?
If so (depending on the time I would love to try it)
I would be interested (EA first choice)

yah they're usually 3 or so hrs.. sometimes they go pretty quick, sometimes they're unresolved really, occasionally they're continued. drop by the irc channel (#dominions on irc.gamesurge.net). week-ends are usually pretty good for finding blitzes... they may not happen exactly when you would like though...
