Is there a way to do this? I just regained the ability to name a new prophet but the place I really need him to be is in a keep that is currently under siege.. and the option isnt there! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Can I get around this somehow?

Just have him retreat from the siege.
Break siege, set to retreat. Provided you have a friendly province for him to escape to he'll be fine.

Wait I thought that Break Seige -> Retreat kills you? Whereas if you retreat from a Storm attempt then you live.

You'd think so. (http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/threads/showthreaded.php?Number=576968)

This particular keep doesnt have a friendly province next to it and I kindof need the guy prophetized to help break the siege http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Retreating from a stormed castle is not necessary the same as retreating from break siege. The manuel specifically said that retreating from break siege will kill you. Is there not true?

The manual is wrong. The only time you die from retreating is if there are no friendly provinces or if it's an assassination attempt.

Mistake of the manual or of the game mechanics?

Edi,
Thanks for the clarification.
BTW thanks also for the Dom database.

Initially this would have been a mechanic bu, since we wanted the manual to be correct.
Now it is a manual mistake, since there are others and the manual is incorrect anyways, and we don't want the game to have bugs http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

If it's documented it's not a bug, it's a feature http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

It seemed counterintuitive to me (I thought the stormed castle is sorrounded by the enemy) but if you say it's ok, oh it's ok for me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I'd definitely prefer this to work as you originally intended, with retreat impossible from castle storming and breaking siege battles.
It doesn't bug me a huge amount to have it work this way, but it's definitely counter-intuitive, yar.

Yep I agree with Sombre, lost break-siege battle IMHO should have the defenders still alive to refuge inside the castle, and if the castle is stormed the ones retreating should die like if they go to an enemy province (they equally retreat to an area controlled by the enemy, as outside the castle, there is the province of the castle itself which /is/ in control of the enemy)
Being sieged seems kinda cheap to me, you can still have all your unit exit for a fake "break siege attempt", retreat immediately and just go to a friendly province :\ - and even if the castle is stormed they are still safe...
Anyway if the devs say it's ok this way I think I just have to accept it the way it is ^^

Actually, I think it's a really cool idea that Commanders retreating from a Storm would survive.
I just think it highly unlikely that they'd take the last few pathetic soldiers with them through the secret tunnel! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

The secret tunnel thing seems quite a consistent stretch of imagination to me, mr. Jim http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
(every time someone tries to explain something strange or "weird" of the game with huge stretches of imagination, like the poisonous-gas-inhaled thing of the poison arrows http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif , it reminds me that Simpsons' episode in which the actress of Xena says every strange thing in the series, like the horses she's riding changing race, is explainable as it has been done by a mage http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif somebody remembers?)

Hey, wait a second - your castle doesn't have secret tunnels? :O
<3
That's what you get for going with the cheap Hillfort, all of my Citadels have catacombs built beneath them for infallible escape! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

How do you ever get sieged then? Surely people should be able to bring in supplies via your tunnels?
Tifone

And you could just have an army of civilian bricklayers (from the friendly province you would escape to) enter the fort by tunnels and just repair the damaged walls over and over and over... ^^

Apparently you people have never used secret escape tunnels. o.O
You can't run a train through them! If they were large enough to accommodate those sorts of activities, they'd be too easy to find. And if you tried to use them outside of a battle, you'd be spotted! You have to get the enemy army at the gates, ready to go - that's when you slip out the back door. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Ok, you have imagination, you could just start writing fairy tales http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Just I can't understand how a tunnel is spotted when you're inside closed walls and want to use it, but you are not when your enemy's army has routed you and is chasing you a couple of steps behind ^^
And well your tunnels aren't large enough for people bringing food but for just for /a bunch of tartarians lead by a two headed Wyrm/? Mmh. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Tartarians are magical. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
Proper catacombs are confusing, all you need to do is get out of line of sight, and *poof*!
They don't spot people IN the tunnel, they spot the flow of people in and out, like ants. Grrrr ants! Any sieging army worth its salt would spot that amount of activity. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

yeah, and they're spotting you in the bathroom, close the window Jim ^^ Damn voyeur tartarians ^^
