Hi all,
I've been a big fan of the SP Camo games for years, and have recently started playing again after a few years out.
I've got an old version zipped on my computer which no longer works but i'm trying to get data off the OBF files i heavily edited way back in the last century.
Is there any way i can get into this data or is there any old MobHack software kicking about that i can use to retreive my OOB's???
Thanks
Simon

Don't think they'd be compatible with the new Windows version of the game: the one you are referring to was DOS based.
But as I know naff-all about computers.......

No, the old DOS software is no longer supported. I don't even have the source for the DOS SPCAMO versions any more, let alone the original Mobhacks for the SSI games.

The latest DOS version orbats are compatible with the windows version. The latest DOS version maps are compatible with the windows versions. Earlier versions are NOT. Windows maps are NOT backward compatible with the DOS game. Graphics from the lastest DOS version are compatible with the Windows game. Backward compatibility is unknown to me, I have not ventured to experiment.
MOBHACK (kudos to Andy for inventing it) is backward compatible with Latest DOS Version Orbats. The user is warned 1. If orbats are copied and pasted, transfer errors will occur. Every orbat so copied and pasted MUST be examined for unintended changes. 2. Some unit classes have changed. 3. Previous version DOS ORBATS and maps may not be readable with WinMOBHACK. The Orbat converter (a third party product ek dink, does not work well. (At least I could never get it to work.)
