View Full Version : Armor of Virtue not working?

In my recent game, the guy who's wearing armor of virtue did not teleport back to home province when hurt. He was not killed in the battle so that cannot be a reason. Also he did not have that blue returning ritual symbol. Is it a known bug since 3.17?

now that you mention it, I think I may have had the same issue. At one point, anyone who donned the armor for a full turn would have the returning icon, even if he later took off the armor. Then it seemed to stop working but I'll have to go back and check.

were you holding still on the first turn of the battle? There's some weird AE thing that the armor uses to slap the returning on your unit that seems to get messed up if you move off your starting square on turn 1. At least from what I remember (nothing from the current patch)

Did he cast any buffs? Some buffs (Ironskin, Iron Will) sometimes remove bless effects from Armor of Virtue/Shroud. It's possible, if unlikely, that they remove returning as well. Was the icon gone at the beginning of battle or did it vanish partway throgh?

You are absolutely right. He needs to hold on turn 1, then it works.

Now another bug, if he has ritual of returning up, you can take off the armor and still keeps the ritual. In fact you can give the armor to another commander for him to enjoy ritual of returning.

^^ yeah, that's been around forever.

In this case, I would consider it a feature http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

well, its got a few other features, as I reported in the bug list discussion.

Take a look at that discussion.

It will also give the returning to all of the slaves of a communion if a master wears it.

Only if the master/slaves are all using Crystal Matrixes (or are Pythian communicants, in the slaves' case).

? it should give it to all the communion slaves, whatever they are, like any self-buff cast by a master.

But it applies the effect at the very start of battle, so if they have to actually cast the spell, they are too late.

Edit: Actually it's been implied that the effect is applied at the END of the first round, which is weird, and the reason you can't move the first round or you don't get it. So yes, it should work even on slaves who cast Communion Slave in first round. ** I could be wrong! ** http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

anybody notice that the armor of virtue casts on other units besides the wearer?

perhaps if the armor is casting on the postion of the wearer at the satrt of the round and somone moves into that spot by the end they get the RoR?
