Okay, the LlamaServer is patched to the latest version of Dominions.

You don't need to worry about version conflicts. You can still take your current turns using v3.21, and they will work fine. Next turn you will find that you need to upgrade to v3.23 to be able to open your turn file, so at that point you'll be forced to upgrade.

One note: If you're also playing some non-LlamaServer games, you should check the host has upgraded before connecting with a v3.23 turn, otherwise you may crash their server. What you probably want to do in that case is copy your whole dominions3 folder, and only patch one of the copies. Then you can use the patched copy for LlamaServer games, and the unpatched copy for other games until they're also upgraded.

I've just updated the game to 3.21. The above is an old post I'm ingeniously reusing by changing the version numbers. :) So read that.

I have a question, is this is a beta patch? If not shouldn't it be termed 3.22?

Could you please send a "llamaserver e-mail" about new patch to everyone, as it seems that not every user of your server (alas :() visits this forum.

Bwaha - no, it's not a beta - the odd/even thing has been a bit inconsistent. Actually in this case the 3.21 patch was the one tested by the beta testers, but no significant problems were found so it's been released unchanged.

WingedDog - I don't think it matters. When they get their next turns they won't be able to open them without the new patch, and I'm sure everyone knows where to get it from.

Bumpy bump - reusing thread for the 3.23 patch.

Not sure if it has anything to do with either the patch or recent llama ailments, but the EpicBattles game which til now has hosted smoothly just got the following message:

On trying to host Epic_Battles just now, Dominions crashed. This is not a LlamaServer issue, but rather Dominions itself crashed with a "Nagot gick fel" error...

Mac users beware, you'll be unable to play turns from now on unless there's a 3.23 update for the Mac. Maybe the llamaserver should refrain from hosting until this is sorted out.

Somebody has reported crashes with games that use CBM. Something about items, or so.

Oh, it was item related, yeah. I'll see if I can reproduce it later.

If that's the case it's going to be quite a killer!

As for macs, I'll let individual game admins sort it out. Presumably players with macs will actually speak up.

I don't know what this is specific to, but it happens during turn generation in the "Loading mods" part. I am hosting via network a CBM game right now and it crashed in turn generation with good ol' "Nagot gick fel" (literally "Something went wrong") and the more helpful "kv: bad item mt0"

Not sure if this is CBM related or not but most people aren't having any problems genning turns for CBM games. So it shouldn't affect too many people.

Its not a CB game so not sure what it could be - i've asked if anyone is playing on a Mac - have yet to hear back.

It turns out it's a bug in 3.23. JK has already made a fix, so we're just waiting on it being made public. In the meantime I've turned off hosting on the LlamaServer, and I'll fix all the affected games when v3.23b is out.

Also, thanks for the info TheDemon, that was helpful.
