I destroyed my computer monitor. Accidentally, of course. That meteorite came out of NOWHERE. And it was shaped just like my butt!

Anyway, I need subs for *9* games! They are almost all interesting positions, and I'm winning or have a fighting chance for survival in all of them.

Please take over my poor pet nations :( Some of them are doing well, all of them are fun positions. :)

Here is the list:
MA Agartha: Beer (top scores in many-player game. destroying 2 nations without problems)
EA Pangaea: Blitzkrieg (first or second place)
MA Ermor: Andeanzorro (just turned the tide of a losign war -- strong)
MA Mictlan: Hieronica (fighting C'tis for survival)
Fomoria: Madwar (just started as Fomoria)
Secret: RAND (can't tell)
MA Abyssia: Standards (doing okay early game with abyssia)
MA mictlan: Veritas (tied for second)

Games with SUB
chrispedersen as Lanka: Freshmeat (tied for first, in war for supremacy)

Damn man - how are you winning so many games?
Obviously - you got skills!

I'm in 3 of your games - Madwar, Veritas & RAND (Subbing), but I can sub for 3 of the others. Are you planning on getting a new monitor soon, or is this gonna be a long term/perm sub?

I'd be interesting to have you in beer and blitzkrieg Baalz.
Oh, and anticipatien, how in the world do you menage to keep 9 games running, I'm in 6 and I'm way in over my head???

the classic noob error - its not really possible, even as a student, to handle more than 4 games once they start getting on. Frankly, even that is unsupportable for me. 9 games is insane; even if his monitor hadn't broken (and it would cost pennies to find some old 17" crt), he would soon enough be in this exact same position anyways.

If it is temporary, i can also sub in one or two games.

sorry for my finger wagging there, anti ;)

it's tough finding so many subs - how many for long term, how many for short?

I responded seconds after his post privately, about how to repair/replace his monitor - and I would probably be willing to pick up lanka = ).

I'm not willing to sub. My own PC has suffered a catastrophic failure. But, if it is just a monitor problem Anti, you can indeed get a small monitor for next to nothing.

Could it be that 9 games have just overwhelmed you? No shame in that, all newbies make that mistake.

I think considering how well he's doing we can't really call anticipatient a newbie.

Maybe he just has a lot of free time.

I'm still pretty much a newbie, I just got lucky in one or two and am near the top in a couple more newbie-oriented games.

Anyway, this is going to be a temporary thing. I just didn't want to hold up 9 games while I went looking for a monitor.

If all 9 of my games were turn 40+, I'd be in trouble :) I had 90% free time up until recently. I still have a lot. I am only expecting to need subs for 2-3 turns. That said, take your pick, first come, first served, with my blessings. :)

Just PM the game admin and post in the appropriate forum, then go ahead and post here to let everyone know the game no longer needs a sub.

Thanks ;( I'm really sorry to everyone I'm involved in games with. Being in 9 is really irresponsible, I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH! I hope you understand. :)

And no, the games have not come near overwhelming me yet. I still have to restrain myself when I see a new game posted :)

I will figure something out pretty quickly, I think. I have several options. Thanks again for the input. :)

Edit: Although I was looking at this as a blessing in disguise. Encouragement to you know, see the sun occasionally and whatnot :)

oh, if it's just for a few turns i could certainly take one - one of the MA mict games, or the Formoria. Ok i'll PM the game admin for the Formoria game.

Have you used the usb port to connect a monitor? This may work.:D

I can sub for RAND game for several turns. No diplomacy is good.

Ok konming, let Pashadawg know you are taking over for me (at least temporarily)

In other news, I used the "magnifier" program in Vista and managed to play all my turns last night with 1/5 of my monitor working (and little pink, aqua and yellow lines running vertically through the remainder). So technically I can still play, but GAD is it a pain in the arse. :) What this means, pretty much, is that I could still use some help with the really big game -- Lanka. Which chrispedersen has volunteered for.

I've also got a solution for the monitor problem, which should take less than two days.

If you're still particularly keen on subbing a particular game, just ask, but I think I'll be okay if Lanka is taken off my hands for a few turns.

Thanks everyone. :)

OK, I guess you can continue to player RAND then. I cannot find that game thread anyway.

glad you found a work around - cancel my madwar sub then :)

though, you will need to lose a couple of those games at least - that's my advice, go out in a blaze of glory in 3 of them :)
