Cross Sounds 0.8 – Released Sept 2008

This sound mod is fully compatible with MBT. It was originally developed for SPWW2, but as MBT uses the same sounds it works just as well with MBT. (As long as your install is using the default WAV sounds not MP3)

You can read more about it, and find a link for download, here:

http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=48897

This mod only changes the wav files (actual sounds), so can be installed mid-battle with no PBEM, security or OOB problems.

However, this mod is not endorsed or supported by Shrapnel Games or The Camo Workshop. Here's their advisory on mods:

"This mod contains highly altered or additional files that may or will cause interference with the master game files and it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that this mod be installed and played ONLY in a separate copy of the game and NOT run from the master game"

Thank you Col Cross, Excellent work yet again. So far every thing seems to sound great and matching the weapons and actions in the game. The Missile Launch and Arrival is especially well done. However, if I run into something funky I'll let you know. I have the WWII update loaded up but haven't tried it yet, hopefully tonight when I get home.

Hi Bob,

I wish I could take the credit for the excellent timing, but the game engine will play the same length missile sound whatever the distance to target.

Fortunately the missile sound fades out towards the end, so the tail-end of the sound is usually covered by the missile's hit explosion, which is a separate sound.

It's all very tricky. :D
