I am sure this question has been asked but is it a dev oversight that Yakshini and Yakshas can be both recruited and summoned? If it is intentional, then the rationale?

P.S. I can't believe I've put over 50-hours on my mod, and I am not close to done yet! This game is so complex, and hence continuously rewarding--the best replay-value of any non-MMORPG game I've played by far!
Our collective thanks to Kristofer, in spite of some philosophic disagreements (e.g. my by-gone threads about human commanders/heroes having too little HPs or the lack of the inclusion of a Korea-based nation) :)

I believe the intention is that they were recruitable in the early age, but leave the world after that and must be summoned back.
The spells are available to all the monkey nations, much like the other monkey nations also have access to Lanka's undead and demonic spells.
Whether it really makes sense to be able to summon them in the early age, while they're still recruitable is debatable. The same applies to Nagas in the Late Age, doesn't it?

I did not know Nagas were summonable as well, because I only play EA games.
Hmmm, so what other nation has units that are both recruitable and summonable?

Most of the Onis are recruitable in Yomi and summonable by them Shinuyama and Jomon.

Note, any unit which is recruitable has a gold value assigned to it and thus costs upkeep even if you summon it. This includes trolls and a couple other summons as well as all the national summons who are also ever recruitable.

Kind of points to a troll nation, at some point, doesn't it? Especially since the Devs are Swedish.

No, but there is a troll poptype, and you can also recruit trolls from a site.

There are also two inactive vaetti and one inactive troll poptype which cannot appear randomly. Can be used to great effect in mapmaking.

Well, what I mean is, it's almost as though Kristoffer was setting out to make some kind of Troll nation, and then got sidetracked, for whatever reason. Or at the very least, put them in there, in so many places, to strongly hint that the Trolls are up to something.
Has anyone read Poul Anderson's "The Broken Sword"? It's *very* Dominionsey-the most reminiscent of the game, of any book I've read, and I'm constantly reminded of it, particularly when I think about an actual Troll nation.
